PPA#236, PP228, HLS Jan CAS

Hi everyone!!!

Two cards to post this evening!!!

First up is my entry for the sketch challenge over at the Pals Paper Arts Blog.
This is the sketch:

I flipped the sketch on it's side and made this card:

The piece of dp I've used is from Heidi Swapp.
Winter rose and flourish dies from MFT.
Sentiment stamp and pennant trim die, from Verve.
Arrows cut with Tim Holtz Alterations chevron die from Sizzix.
Added some dry wall tape, a twine bow and rhinestones.

The next card I've made for the watercolouring CAS challenge at the Happy Little Stampers Blog and I will also be linking to The Paper Players Blog where it's all about a sentiment.

This is my card:

I've sponged some cs with three DIs and then adhered some dry wall tape onto it.  I spritzed it with water and then put some black watercolour paint droplets on the wet surface and left it for a while.  When I removed the dry wall tape I had my bg.
The rest was eazy peezy.
Letters cut with Tim Holtz alphabet die.  I layered five layers of cs for the letters and gave it some shine with Clear 3D Gloss.
Part of the sentiment heat-embossed on vellum.
Added a black strip at the bottom and three black plastic dots.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Had lots of fun today in my craft room!!

Thanks so much for the visit - always a pleasure to have you here!!!

Keep well!!!
Kind regards
Petra

Another beautiful creation! Once again, so perfectly balanced! Love how the chevrons 'point' to the pretty flower and the wee peak of designer paper!

Your second card is amazing! You are genius with the drywall tape! Really cool effect leaving the ink to roam where it chose! Perfectly masculine!

Ah, I thought about flipping the sketch but I couldn't come up with a way that worked. You did it beautifully!

Two great cards Petra. Love the sketch challenge card with the addition of that dp in the background which really lifts the card. Your watercolour card is absolutely lovely - really interesting the way you layed the dry wall tape over the top before spritzing with water.

Hugs.

Fantastic cards Petra. Love the flower with the flourish on the first one... the touch of designer paper looks wonderful behind it... I also like the arrows pointing at the focal point. Well done! Your second card is so cool. Love the sponged colors and the piece of dry wall tape... I have a roll somewhere in my stash! What a great look!
